Safety and Certification Checks

All gas appliances need to be fitted and maintained with care to avoid the risk of injury from carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning or fire and explosion. Because of this, the Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulations 1998 came into force on 31/10/1998.

The regulations require that gas installation businesses be registered with the national watchdog for gas safety in the United Kingdom ("CORGI").

Heatcare Southwest Ltd is a CORGI registered gas installation business. This means that our fitters are thoroughly competant to undertake gas work safely and have been assessed by nationally-accepted standards.

The law applies not only to gas installation and maintenance companies, but also to Landlords and Letting agents.

Heatcare Southwest Ltd can assist Landlords in their legal obligations including:

Ensuring that installation pipework, applicances and flues provided for tenants are mainteained in a safe condition.

Ensuring that an annual safety check in carried out on eacg appliance and/or flue that are provided for tenants' use.

Ensuring that maintenance and saftety checks are carried out.
